PDO THREADS

A procedure that is intended to give a "non surgical mini face lift."  By using PDO Threads, which are made of the same material surgical grade sutures or stitches are made from, we can place these threads into a person's fatty tissue in the face and pull the skin in whichever direction we would like it to go.  This can help fight the effects of gravity where the skin may have started to descend.  It gives a true physical lift to an area and can last up to 18 months as the threads dissolve naturally and are excreted from the body.

About PDO Threads

A PDO Thread Lift is a non-invasive and non-surgical cosmetic treatment designed to reverse visible signs of aging on the face and neck. PDO stands for polydioxanone, a chemical compound commonly used in surgical suturing for years. This compound is now utilized in thread lift treatments to improve the skin’s appearance.

FAQs

  • PDO Thread Lifts have two primary goals: to physically lift and tighten the skin and to stimulate the body’s natural healing process to prolong results. The treatment involves pulling the skin into a more taut position using PDO threads. These threads also stimulate collagen production in the treated areas. Over a few months, the threads are absorbed by the body, but the collagen remains, providing lasting volume and lift.

    1. Physical Lift: The threads physically pull the skin to a higher position, reducing sagging.

Collagen Stimulation: The threads encourage the body to produce collagen, which adds volume and maintains the lift even after the threads are absorbed.

  • Our practitioners will select the appropriate combination of threads and carefully place them to lift sagging skin. The treatment is non-invasive, requiring minimal downtime. You may experience some mild swelling and bruising, which typically resolves within a few days.

  • The duration of results from a PDO Thread Lift depends on the treated area and the number of threads used. Treatments around the mouth, fine lines, and lip enhancement can last 3-6 months, while lifting treatments for the brow, neck, and lower face can last up to 2 years.

  • The number of treatments required varies based on individual needs and desired results. During your consultation, our experienced professionals will assess your skin and create a personalized treatment plan.

  • PDO Thread Lifts are generally well-tolerated. A topical numbing cream is applied before the procedure to minimize discomfort. Most clients experience only mild sensations during the treatment.

  • There is minimal downtime with PDO Thread Lifts. You can resume normal activities immediately, although you may experience some mild swelling and bruising that typically resolves within a few days.

  • Common side effects include temporary swelling, bruising, and mild discomfort at the injection sites. These effects are usually mild and resolve on their own. As with any treatment, there are potential risks, but our practitioners will discuss these with you before the procedure.
